What is influencer marketing?

Influencer marketing is when an advertiser promotes their product by having social media personalities (commonly referred to as “influencers”) showcase the product on their social media channels. The practice gained popularity in the early days of YouTube and has since spread across Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and blogs. Learn more by reading our white paper on this topic.


How does Influicity work with influencers?

Influicity provides opportunities for influencers and content creators to work with brands, on sponsored content, original programming, and more. Unlike a talent agency, which represents influencers, Influicity works with brands and brings offers to influencers, when it makes sense. We do not represent influencers and we are not a talent agency.


How is influicity different from an influencer agency or a talent agency?

Talent agencies have an important place in the ecosystem. Typically, they represent talent (i.e. influencers or content creators) when negotiating brand deals. And they can also seek out partnerships with complementary brands, acting as a representative for the influencer.

Influicity doesn’t have representation agreements with influencers and does not receive commissions of any kind, for recommending one influencer over another. We simply operate a marketplace where brands can find influencers (and vice versa), based on the best fit for a particular project.
